Should
Females be Educated?
Girls
in developing countries like Pakistan should have equal opportunities in
education. However, a 14-year-old girl named Malala, who was bravely campaigning
for the right to an education for women and girls in her town, Swat Valley,
Pakistan, was shot last October, according to the New York Times. Malala was speaking
out against the terrorist group called Taliban who was against Malala’s
campaign for closing the girls’ schools. Malala also fought to reopen the
schools. Governments like Pakistan should provide equal education opportunities
to all its people because education can help both girls and boys claim their
rights and realize their potential in the world. Educating girls is the most
powerful solution possible to take people out of poverty.
Similar
to Malala’s beliefs, girls have the right to get an education because they are
the backbone of society. Mothers are the primary educators of their children. My
mother was the one who pushed us to learn and go to school. If my mother had
not had a good education, then I would have been behind the other children in
school. It is important for girls to get
their education, without discrimination, and it must be good quality, because they
raise the children and educate them in order to prepare the next generation. For
example, in Somalia the women take care of the children by providing food,
clothing and they send children schools and they help with homework while the
men socialize and talk about politics. Also in my country the women open new
schools for girls to attend. The Somali women are still fighting for education
like Malala. Now they don’t only go home and do house work. They also can get a
formal education. Girls should always have equal opportunities when it comes to
education because they are future mothers and they can support their family as
boys do. In some countries like Pakistan, people don’t care about sending girls
to school because of cultural beliefs. However, people like Malala can also be leaders
and innovators in society to provide better financial opportunity for their
family and countries. For example, women
who have had a formal education, gain employment, open businesses and pay for
their education.
The Taliban militants didn't care about the future of the women's right because they keep the females in homes. they prevent the Pakistani girls from going to school or work. However, Malala didn't stop to go her school and campaign for the girls education, and the Taliban militants shot her in her neck and head.
